Matthew started racing in 2003 at the age of 5 (the minimum age for kart racing). He finished his first year with extremely high praises from the karting community. In his first race ever Matthew brought home a 4th place finish after starting last and found victory lane in his 6th race out.
As Dad got better tuning the kart it showed in race results with Matthew consistently finishing in the top 2 on a regular basis the second half of the season. Matthew, it turns out, is a natural at this sport. All this before he entered Kindergarden!
