MCR Racings 270 season has apparently come to a quick end this year. With our engine problems from last saturday we boxed and shipped the engine on Tuesday back to the builder to be checked out. On Wensday we were informed by the shipper that the engine was damaged in shipping and would be returned to us for inspection. On thursday morning we were informed that the engine is lost/missing. With 4 races left at Trailways there is not enough time to get a new engine built. What a huge setback to the team and Matt's seat time we had hoped to get in this year. If anything changes we will update our site for Matt's fans.

Matt's 270 debut got off to a good start but ended with a engine failure in the feature. In the heat race Matt would start 12th out of 12 and bring the car home a respectable 7th, which would give him a 13th starting spot in the feature. In the feature Matt worked his way to 10th by the 4th lap when a caution came out for a spinning car. On the restart the car broke a piston ring which had Matt way off the pace and then was collected by a spinning car, the same car that brought out the first caution ending Matt's night early. The engine will need to go back to the builder due to the severity of the damage. Unfortunatley Matt will miss the Aug. 14th race but will be back in the 270 on Aug. 21st. Matt picked up his 3rd win of the season at Selinsgrove Raceway park on friday night. Matt drew his best number of the season which gave him an outside front row starting spot in his heat race. Matt would pull away in the heat race and lead start to finish in the feature race. Matt also took over the points lead with friday nights win !! Thanks for checking in on Matt's season.

Sunday had Matt and the team at Trailways Speedway for a test session to shake down the new 270 car Matt will be racing there. The team was able to get the bugs worked out and getting Matt familiar with the new car and the speed increase. Things went very well and Matt will debut the car Saturday Aug. 7th. By the end of the test Matt had a good feel for the car and track and 2 nice blisters to show for the day !!
